Welcome!
Calvary Temple is a diverse group of followers of Jesus Christ. We come from different cultural and social backgrounds. Some of us grew up in various denominational churches, while some of us are very new Christians. We're not perfect, but we are trying to do our best to grow closer to Christ and be transformed into His image. Here's our vision statement and what we believe.
First time to a Sunday Service? Recognizing the diverse nature of our congregation, we offer three different Sunday morning services:
8:30am Calvary Classic - utilizes hymns and worship choruses; classic Calvary Temple 9:45am Contemporary Service - utilizes Contemporary Christian Music and worship songs 11:11am REACH - cutting edge, guitar-driven worship

Where to go
We are located at 1730 West Jefferson Street in Springfield, Illinois. The most convenient place to park is in "back" of the church. That's where our main sanctuary entrances are located. However, regardless of which door you enter, you'll find plenty of people to help you find your way. We encourage you to stop by the "Start Here" booth to find out more about Calvary Temple and pick up your free gift.
What to wear
People attend Calvary Temple wearing anything from three-piece suits to jeans. As you can imagine, our Calvary Classic service tends to me a bit more formal than the REACH service, but don't expect people to be too worried about what you're wearing.
What to expect
We try our best to make you feel welcome and comfortable at Calvary - and if we don't succeed, please let us know so we can do better next time! You will be met by greeters at the door who can give directions or answer any questions you may have.
Each of our services is a little different from the others, but expect to experience a time of corporate worship and praise and a pertinent, Bible-based sermon or message. You shouldn't feel obligated to do anything you're uncomfortable with during our services. Again, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable.
We also provide a variety of Sunday School classes during each time period on Sunday morning. Check out our current class offerings.
What about my children?
Your children will love attending Calvary Temple with you. Our two nurseries, one for infants and one for toddlers, are conveniently located at each end of the church foyer. If your children need you for any reason, we'll simply contact you on your cell phone or, if you prefer, we'll give you a paging device to keep with you during the service.
Children from preschool to 6th grade attend Son Power children's ministry and Sunday School. Pastor Jenny Adams and her team of children's workers minister God's Word to your children in a way that makes them want to come back each week for more! Learn more about our children's ministry.
We haven't forgotten teenagers, either. Special Sunday School classes during the 9:45 hour provide a great time for teens to connect and learn God's Word. Jr. Highers will especially love JOLT during this time period. And, the REACH service at 11:11 is specifically designed to appeal to teens and those in their early twenties.
