James was Jesus' brother. He was a skeptic of Jesus during Jesus' life, but turned after Jesus appeared to him after His death. We are servants of God. God is not our servant. We are called to serve him, and He is not responsible for serving us. Everyday, we need to ask ourselves how we can better serve God. We cannot expect breakthroughs if we think of God as our servant. Breakthroughs come when we seek to serve God.

Who is Jesus to you?
James 1:1
There are several men by the name of James in the Bible but most likely we get the first picture of this man in the book of Mark.
Mark 6:1
What kind of relationship did these brothers have with Jesus?
John 7:2
Acts 1:12
Acts 12:16
By Acts 15, when Paul comes to Jerusalem about the Gentile question, James is the clear leader.
What made the turnaround from skeptic to believer in James, the brother of Jesus Life?
1 Corinthians 15:3-7
James 1:1
Who is Jesus to you?
I. We are servants of God.
The role of the Servant is to do the will of the one they serve.
Who do you think you are here to serve?
By the rules of today we serve ourselves.
By the rules of the Kingdom of God we serve Him.
This is fundamental to my faith. Do I see God as my servant or do I see myself as his servant?
The way I see my circumstances change when I am his servant.
When he is my servant,
When I see myself as God’s servant I look at each moment asking ‘how do I serve Him.’
II. James confesses that Jesus is Lord.
As a servant I am here to serve him as Lord.
Everything I have belongs to him.
All things in my life come under his rule.
James is about to tell us how LIFE MEETS FAITH. HOW THEY BLEND TOGETHER. HOW OUR FAITH IMPACTS OUR LIVES. HE STARTS WITH THIS.
James 1:1
There can be no breakthroughs in great areas of life until you settle who Jesus is to you.
