What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do

Nehemiah was a cup bearer for the King of Babylon. He was used by God to help the people of Israel. Nehemiah took the trouble of the Israelites personally, and showed us that where man is weak, God is powerful. He fasted and prayed, and God used him for great things.

Nehemiah 1:2-4
 
Nehemiah was a Jewish exile.
 
The King was with the most powerful person in the Kingdom every day, but Nehemiah had no power.
 
  1. WHEN NEHEMIAH HEARD ABOUT THE CONDITION, HE TOOK IT PERSONALLY.
 
REMEMBER:  THIS IS NOT A FORMULA.  What we see here is the reaction of a right heart.
 
  1. NEHEMIAH SHOWS US THAT WHERE MAN IS WEAK, GOD IS POWERFUL.
 
Nehemiah fasted and he prayed.
 
Fasting begins when the person wants God’s will more than their own comfort.
 
Fasting is a heart’s cry for the will of God.
 
Fasting is an intentional reaction to a problem.
 
Fasting is what I can do when I don’t know what else to do.
