What Do I Do Now?

Faith is about learning how to deal with the trials of life. Trials bring about maturity and completeness. When I understand what trials do in my life, I should face them with joy and patience. When walking through a trial, we should ask for wisdom, and we must ask in faith. We need to "get out of the boat" and face our trials, and keep our eyes on Jesus during the storm.

WHERE FAITH MEETS LIFE
A Study on James
What Do I Do Now?
Pastor Mark Johnson

James 1:5-8

The word we have for trials is also used for temptations.

A trial has to do with living in the Kingdom of God.

Faith is all about withstanding the trials of life.

Trials in our lives are meant to purchase maturity and completeness.

When I understand what trials do in my life, I should face them with joy and patience.

Sadly, many do not ask this question - they just simply respond.

  1. In the ongoing temptations of your life, how are you doing at securing freedom?

  1. In the trials of your life, how are you doing at walking faithfully through them?

What do we do?

  1. We ask for wisdom.

Wisdom is the right use of knowledge.

Here is the promise.  God will give wisdom to those who ask for it.

A. It will be biblical.
B. It will be of the Spirit.

James 3:17-18

If it is not biblical or spiritual, it is worldly.

  1. I must ask in faith.

Matthew 14:22-31

  1. Some people never get out of the boat.
  2. Some take their eyes off Jesus.

I must have faith he will answer and faith to do what he has revealed.
