The Need to be Complete

Jesus brought many things to this world. He brought good news to the poor, freedom for the prisoner, sight for the blind, and release for the oppressed. Jesus was not just thinking of one group, he was talking about all mankind. We are incapable of feeling complete and satisfied without the love of Jesus. We are missing a connection with the living God, and this is what Jesus came to restore. What was lost in the garden is restored at the cross and is found in Jesus.

The Need to be Complete

Luke 4:14-21
What do you think when you hear these words?
  • Good news to the poor
  • Freedom for the prisoner
  • Sight for the blind
  • Release for the oppressed

JESUS WAS THINKING OF ALL MANKIND:  YOU AND ME.

This is not just a matter of circumstances, it is a condition

BECAUSE OF A DEFICENCY AND BECAUSE SOMETHING IS MISSING IN OUR MAKE UP, WE ARE INCAPABLE OF CERTAIN THINGS THAT SHOULD BE NORMAL.

What is our condition besides being separated from God?

WE ARE INCAPABLE OF BEING COMPLETE, SATISFIED, AND WHOLE.

Here is the problem:  we instinctively know something is missing and we go looking for it.

We are incapable of being complete because we are incomplete:
Poor in spirit
Prisoners to our condition
Blind to the truth
Oppressed by desire

Our lust is symptom of our brokenness.

Our brokenness releases the lust.

WHAT IS MISSING IS THE CONNECTION WITH THE LIVING SPIRIT OF GOD.  THIS IS WHAT JESUS CAME TO RESTORE.

John 17:20-22

What is this glory?
The glory always represents the presence of God.
The glory is a result of the presence of God.

2 Corinthians 3:13-18

WHAT WAS LOST IN THE GARDEN IS RESTORED AT THE CROSS AND IS FOUND IN JESUS.

2 Corinthians 3:17

Man is incomplete, broken and helpless until Jesus comes and brings freedom.

The pathway to completeness is in worship to Jesus that starts when I bow my life to Him.
