The Glory of God

If you were to ask them, most Christians would say they desire to reflect the glory of God to the world around them. But are they? How do we, as Christians, reflect the glory of God? In Ephesians chapter 3, the apostle Paul tells us that God's intent was to reveal himself to this world through two things - Christ Jesus and the church. Pastor Mark begins a series in which he will instruct the church on four things they must do to reflect the glory of God to this world.

THE CHURCH
THE GLORY OF GOD

Ephesians 3:8-21
This tells us that God the Father’s glory, His greatness, His majesty, His power, His wisdom, His understanding, His beauty, His character and His love are supposed to be revealed to the world through two things.

  1. Christ Jesus
  2. The Church

Jesus is the most perfect reflection of God’s Glory because he is God himself in the likeness of Man.

God’s glory is also supposed to be revealed in the church. The question is how.

Let’s look at this: How does creation reflect the glory of God?

God’s Glory is revealed in the fulfillment of purpose.

Ekklesia or Church means “a called-out gathering of people.”

  1. Let your good works shine so the world will praise the Father in heaven.
  2. Love one another so the world will know that Jesus was sent by the Father.
  3. The first instruction to the Church: Go into all the world and make disciples.
  4. My house will be known as a House of Prayer.

If we don’t do these things and others, we do not reflect the glory of God.
