SECURITY

  1. I.        FINDING DIRECTION.
Proverbs 2:1-8
Feelings cannot be the way we get direction in life.

The Bible gives some clear direction about the heart of man.
 Proverbs 3:5-8, Proverbs 4:20-23, Jeremiah 17:9
There is no security in doing things that ‘feel right’.

  1. II.      THE CODE FOR LIFE.
What rock is your life built on?
What is your code of Life?
Our code is the determining factor in how we act and react in life.

Where did you get it?  From your parents?  What is its name?

Some of the biggest mistakes in life come from living wrong codes.  If our code is wrong, if it is weak or faulty……….trouble is lurking ahead.

Some of the toughest conflicts in our homes stem from differing life codes.  Our life code drives our actions!

If you want to discover true security in life, you must purposefully determine your code.  Your sense of security will only be as true as your code source.

Think about all the code influencers in your life
Many people claim a code.  But many times this code claim is merely lip service.  It only lasts while it is easy.

All of these things reveal the real code of our heart/life.

Truth is……. all the codes of men will fail….there is no security in these codes. The only sure thing about these codes is that they will eventually fail every time

  1. III.    TRUE SECURITY.
Jesus’ offer of life to the full includes security. This security is found in obedience to His Word.  Proverbs 2:1
What do you think “accept my words” mean. It means to apply them to your life

This is one of many scriptures in the Bible that calls out to us to accept the Bible as the standard for our code of conduct.

Psalm 112:1, Proverbs 2:1-8, Proverbs 3:5–8,
Proverbs 4:20–23, 2 Tim. 3:16-17
God says accept my words and you can rest secure in my promises.  I can rest secure when I diligently seek His Word for every action and decision.

To know the right code of conduct go to God’s word:
treat His Word as a treasure.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God for our lives.

Question.  How do you know you are doing the right thing in life?
Matthew 7:24-27
A solemn warning and Glorious promise.
True security comes from walking in obedience to God’s Word.
