How To Save America

Blessing for obedience and judgement for disobedience is a constant theme of scripture. God always warns us before He sends judgment. After He warns us, he removes his presence. After that, he makes what should work stop working. He then gets into our pocketbooks. We need to recognize God as our provider. Finally, he touches our peace. We need to worry about pleasing God first, and serving Him above all else.

Amos 4:6-13, Deuteronomy 11:26-28

Blessing for obedience and judgment for disobedience is a constant theme of scripture.

I.  STEPPING TOWARDS JUDGMENT

A. A warning from God - The acts of judgment are to compel us back to God.

In the Old Testament the message came from a prophet. In the New Testament the message comes from the Word.

How we miss the warning: Man is satisfied with his course and is comfortable with his life.

B. God removes His presence.

How we miss this warning: We don’t cherish the presence of God and treat our relationship with Him as a ritual.

C. What should work does not work!
Amos 4: 7-8

God had promised certain things under His blessing and they stop happening.

How we miss this warning: We make excuses and blame our problems on others or excuse the situation away instead of asking, “God, why do I not have Your blessing?”

D.  God gets in our pocketbook.
Amos 4:9

The economy is in God’s hands.

How do we miss this warning? We blame it on political parties and financial philosophies instead of seeing God as Jehovah Jireh, our provider.

E. God touches our peace.

How do we miss this warning? We blame the corruption of the world instead of the corruption of the Church.

II. GOD TAKES NOTES

Malachi 3:13-18 - This is God’s promise to the faithful.

III. WHAT CAN I DO TO SAVE AMERICA?

A. Recognize God as God.
B. Recognize God as the most important One to seek, please and serve.
C. Recognize the warning and pray.
D. Recognize the need and serve.
E. Recognize the call and proclaim.
F. Recognize the power and worship
