God wants the world to see what happens when people walk in obedience to Him. Christians are called to a higher responsibility. When we come to Christ, we become Christ followers. We represent Christ. The Pharisees were people of the mind. James and John, the Sons of Thunder, were men of the soul. Josiah was a man of the heart. The heart, the soul, and the mind must be tied togther. We are called to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness.

Matthew 22:36-40
God’s deal with the People of Israel.
Deut 28:1-15
I. God promises to establish Israel as a set apart people.
God wants the world to see what happens when people walk in obedience to Him.
God’s intent is to have a people who will allow His glory to shine through them so the world will be drawn to Him.
Warning: There is a higher responsibility.
Ps 73:1-5, Deut. 28:10
When we come to Christ we become Christians. Christ Followers, Children of God.
1 Cor 10:31-33
As a follower of Christ Jesus I am called to join his cause, to represent him.
II. The Mind, Soul and Heart.

The Pharisee’s religious leaders of Christ’s day. People of the Mind.
The Mind has to be in touch with the Heart and the Soul to be fully God’s.
B. James and John the Sons of Thunder. Men of the Soul.
Luke 9:52-56
The Soul has to be in touch with the Mind and the Heart.
C. Josiah a Man of the Heart.
2 Kings 22:1-3, 2 Kings 22:10-11
The Heart has to be tied to the Soul and the Mind.
III. The New Testament Deal.
Matthew 6:24-34
Jesus says you don’t have to worry about stuff if you get a couple of things right.
A. Seek first His kingdom.
Luke 17:20
Seek the Spirit of the Kingdom in your heart.
B. And His righteousness.
Do the right thing.
John 13:34
