BGIG - Big Godly Impossible Goal - God wants us to be people of faith. Without faith it is impossibe to please God. What are you hoping for? What promise is avialable to you that you don't have at this moment? God wants you to trust Him with that promise, and put your actions where your belief is.
Hebrews 11:6, Hebrews 11:1 -8
Without faith it is impossible to please God.
Faith is being:
A. Sure of what we hope for.
B. Certain of what we do not see.
God wants us to be a people of faith!
BHAG: Big Hairy Audacious Goal
BGIG: Big Godly Impossible Goals
We are given BGIG’s to build our faith.
I. Big: They are God sized.
To share a BGIG can come across as crazy arrogant. I have been challenged that God gives them to us, so we will have to walk in faith and please Him.
II. Godly: In the Kingdom of God, that can only mean eternity impacting.
Some people do have dreams, big ones. But, they are not Kingdom oriented. They are selfish or self promoting – they are not Kingdom built.
Paul had a BGIG.
In the economy of the church, BGIG’s come to us through leadership and confirmation.
III. Impossible: There is always a way to start, but never a way to finish.
There has to be faith that the impossible is going to happen.
IV. Goals: No guarantee. The BGIG’s are always dependent upon the obedience of the called.
A BGIG is achieved through obedience not understanding.
Hebrews 11:6
Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Faith is being:
1. Sure of what we hope for.
2. Certain of what we do not see.
1. As a church we know what we hope for in God, but we also need to know what we should be certain of as a fellowship of believers.
2. As an individual and family so do you.
1. Some of you have no BGIG’s in your life: Nothing too big for you - nothing that requires faith.
2. Some of you have BHAG: You dream of homes, cars, travel and pleasure. Not a BGIG.
3. Some of you have a BGIG, but you are discouraged.
Let me encourage you. He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
