Believe for Blessing
04.21.10
This year started out with a concentrated effort to pray and fast. I believe prayer reaches past our abilities and allows us to bring the power of God to bear on our circumstances. I believe God is looking for people of faith who will cry out to Him and believe in Him. David Wilkerson, in one of his recent newsletters, writes, “Jesus has never been more powerful than he is right now. …Jesus desires a faith in his resurrection power. I’m talking about a power that reaches beyond death and beyond hopelessness.” Thank you, Pastor Wilkerson, for reminding us that the miracle-working Jesus is still at work today.
If you have had a breakthrough or victory this year, please, send us your testimony. It will encourage others. If yours is yet to come, don’t give up. We all have a present work in Christ to do that can only be done through His power. HAVE FAITH AND PRAY. Prayer brings God’s power into our circumstances. From May 23 through May 26, we are asking you to join us in a unified time of prayer and fasting. As we approach that time, let your faith be built as we BELIEVE FOR BLESSING.

I was excited when Pastor Mark told of the blog because I have had an amazing breakthrough in my life through prayer and fasting. I had never fasted before until the 21 days in January. I went on a media fast (no internet for 21 days). It was difficult, but I have never felt so close to God. Every time I thought about going on the internet (if it was for e-mail or facebook) I would pray. I was praying specifically for the breakthrough in my finances. I am a single parent and do not receive any child support. I have been going through the courts trying to receive support. After the 21 days I felt God telling me to fast the day before my child support court dates. So, I fasted food the day before my court date in February praying for God to soften his heart and get him to start paying his child support, also for some direction in how to proceed with my case. My court date God did show me favor in some ways and directed my path very clearly (which I was praying for). In March I again fasted food the day before my court date. About 2 weeks later I received information that they had finally been given new employer information from him and the judge increased his amount to pay. Then about 2 weeks ago, I received a Voicemail from him stating he was paying his child support and would be sending money towards medical bills that he owes on top of the child support! How amazing! For the first time in 11 years I received a FULL child support payment last week! I have been praying for this breakthrough for years, but 3 months of fasting and praying and I am experiencing it. This money will help me out so much financially. Fasting will definitely be a part of my life from now on.
