How can I help?

You can be a Hope Thrift Center volunteer! We need people who are willing to give a few hours of their time each week or month to work in the thrift store. You might process donations, help customers, man the cash register, help with clean-up or maintenance ... but whatever you are called to do, you will have the fun of fellowship with other volunteers, and you'll meet and make new friends. At the same time your volunteer work helps meet the need of children.

There are several areas of opportunity:

  • Outside, weeds pulled, general upkeep.
  • help rearranging furniture on a continuous basis.
  • Ironing done either in the evenings or daytime, or taking home.
  • Sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, straightening.
  • Sorting and cleaning items to be put out on the floor.
  • Testing computers and electrical things.
  • Tagging items and pricing.
  • Checking toys out to make sure they work.
  • Keeping toy rooms straight.
  • Take winter clothes upstairs.

Each hour you volunteer at the Hope Thrift Center equals $20 - that will feed and clothe a hungry child somewhere in the world.
