A Night of Worship and Praise
"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks." - Jesus
Welcome to Spirit and Truth: A Night of Worship and Praise. These events are neither concerts nor presentations of songs. They are nights to freely worship God and experience the blessing of being in His awesome presence.
Before we begin, we have a responsibility. All of us must prepare our hearts and minds so that we might be able to forget about ourselves and worship the Lord. “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:2)
We need to have a correct attitude and focus of praise, thankfulness, gratitude and humility. “Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.” (Colossians 3:16b, NLT)
Take a moment before you get out of your car to “set your mind on things above.” Forget about whatever was on your mind when you pulled in. Set aside any feelings of being hurried or discontented. Stop thinking about what you’re doing later tonight.
On this night, you have the opportunity to enter into God’s presence where you are alone with God and nothing else matters. Let this be your prayer:
“Lord, I want to set my mind only on You! I am grateful for all You are. I know that You are worthy to be worshiped, and tonight is all about You. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience Your presence. I come to this place tonight expecting to meet with You. Amen.”
As you enter the Sanctuary, please come through the doors reverently in an attitude of worship. Don't wait for the band or choir to start. Enter into a personal time of worship - just you and the Lord. And remember, you're not here for a concert; you're here to worship the King in spirit and in truth!
